Exodus 2

And he said unto his daughters, “And where is he? For what is this—ye left the man! Call for him, and he shall eat bread.”

21

And Mosheh was pleased to dwell with the man; and he gave Tzipporah his daughter to Mosheh,

22

and she begat a son, and he called his name Gershom,1 in that, he said, “A sojourner I have been in a foreign land.”

23

And it came to be, in the abundance of days, and the king of Egypt2 died, and the sons of Israel groaned from the servitude, and ·they cried, and their outcry3 ascended to God from the servitude.

24

And God heard their moans, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Yitzhak, and with Ya’acob.

25

And God saw the sons of Israel, and God knew.
