Judges 4
And the sons of Israel added to do the bad in the eyes of Yahweh when Ehud was dead, 2 and Yahweh sold them into the hand of Yabin king of Kanaan, that reigned in Chatsor; and the principal of his host was Sisera, and he dwelt in Charosheth of the nations; 3 and the sons of Israel cried unto Yahweh, for nine hundred chariots of iron had he, and he pressed [down] the sons of Israel strongly twenty years.
And Deborah, a woman, a prophetess, the woman of Lappidoth, she was judging Israel at that time, 5 and she dwelt under the palm of Deborah, between Ramah and Beth-El, in the mountain[land] of Ephraim, and the sons of Israel would ascend unto her for judgment. 6 And she sent forth and called Baraq, son of Abinoam, out of Qedesh-Naphtali, and said unto him, “Hath not Yahweh, God of Israel, commanded?— go, and thou shalt draw unto mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men out of the sons of Naphtali and out of the sons of Zebulun, 7 and I shall draw unto thee, unto the wadi Qishon, Sisera, principal of the host of Yabin, and his chariots and his multitude, and give him into thy hand.”
And Baraq said unto her, “If thou goest with me, then I shall go; and if thou goest not with me, I shall not go.”
And she said, “Going I shall go with thee; only, however, no honor shall there be in the way that thou art going, for into the hand of a woman shall Yahweh sell Sisera.” And Deborah stood up and went with Baraq to Qedesh. 10 And Baraq called Zebulun and Naphtali to Qedesh, and they ascended at his feet, ten thousand men, and Deborah ascended with him.
And Cheber the Qenite had been separated out of the Qenites, out of the sons of Chobab, father-in-law of Moses, and he had stretched out his tent unto the oak in Tsaanannim, which is by Qedesh.
And they told unto Sisera that Baraq, son of Abinoam, had ascended unto mount Tabor, 13 and Sisera called all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Charosheth of the nations, unto the wadi Qishon.
And Deborah said unto Baraq, “Stand up, for this is the day that Yahweh hath given Sisera into thy hand. Hath not Yahweh gone forth before thy face?” And Baraq descended out of mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him. 15 And Yahweh discomfited Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the camp, by the mouth of the sword, before Baraq; and Sisera descended from off the chariot, and fled on his [two] feet. 16 And Baraq pursued after the chariots and after the camp, until Charosheth of the nations, and all the camp of Sisera fell by the mouth of the sword—until not one was left.
And Sisera fled on his [two] feet unto the tent of Yael, the woman of Cheber the Qenite, for there was peace between Yabin, king of Chatsor, and between the house of Cheber the Qenite. 18 And Yael went forth to meet Sisera, and said unto him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside unto me; do not fear.” And he turned aside unto her, into the tent, and she covered him with a mantle. 19 And he said unto her, “Give me to drink, pray, a little water, for I am thirsty.” And she opened a wineskin of milk, and gave him to drink, and covered him. 20 And he said unto her, “Stand at the opening of the tent, and it be, if any man cometh, and asketh thee, and saith, ‘Is there here any man?’ and thou shalt say, ‘None.’”
And Yael, the woman of Cheber, took a tent peg, and set the hammer in her hand, and went unto him secretly, and drove the peg into his thin [bit], and it went down into the land; and he was deepsleeping and languishing and he died.
And lo, Baraq was pursuing Sisera, and Yael came forth to meet him, and said unto him, “Come, and I shall show thee the man whom thou seekest.” And he came in unto her, and lo—Sisera, fallen, dead, and with the peg in his thin [bit]. 23 And God laid low, on that day, Yabin king of Kanaan in the face of the sons of Israel, 24 and the hand of the sons of Israel went, going on and becoming hard upon Yabin king of Kanaan, until that they had cut off Yabin king of Kanaan.
